Our Work with Transition Stirling: Delivering Green Skills Workshops
Share
Over the past two months, we had the pleasure of collaborating with Transition Stirling to deliver a series of Green Skills workshops. Our focus was on teaching textile repair and sewing alterations, empowering participants with practical skills to extend the life of their garments and reduce waste.
The response from the community was overwhelmingly positive. Participants were eager to learn, and the sessions quickly became a hub of creativity and collaboration. From mending holes in well-loved jeans to altering the fit of a favourite dress, each workshop was filled with hands-on activities that brought both practical knowledge and a sense of accomplishment.
One of the highlights was seeing the pride and satisfaction on participants' faces as they mastered new techniques. The group was enthusiastic and engaged, sharing tips and stories as they worked. It was inspiring to witness how a simple skill like sewing could bring people together and foster a sense of community.
We also enjoyed the opportunity to connect with the team at Transition Stirling. Their commitment to sustainability and community engagement is truly commendable, and it was a privilege to support their mission. Together, we were able to make a tangible impact, helping people to embrace more sustainable practices in their daily lives.
Overall, our Green Skills workshops were a resounding success. We are grateful for the chance to contribute to such a worthwhile initiative and look forward to future collaborations with Transition Stirling. Here’s to many more workshops and a greener, more sustainable future!
